SDE Group's part in the 'Electric Future'

Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations are popping up all over the country, and as we push forward with our ambition to be greener and reduce our carbon footprint, SDE Group are eager to share up and coming projects with you. It has been a goal for us for a long time now to become a company with a better impact on the environment, so our Electric Charging Stations are something we are very passionate to grow.

Electric Vehicles are starting to become the car of choice for many drivers, as the most efficient and cheapest vehicles on the road because of lower running costs, along with a host of other benefits such as priority lanes, free parking and charging, incentive schemes and a generally improved driving experience, it is easy to see why electric vehicles are taking over the roads.

We were delighted to get the opportunity to work alongside Gridserve to help grow the electric highway, installing new Rapid Charging Stations up and down the country from John o' Groats to Lands End, in lots of public locations and destinations. One of our latest jobs was the IKEA in Sheffield, where we added two new stations to the parking area. All the necessary civil works are undertaken by our site teams, ensuring the bases are formed to the manufacturer’s specifications. Once completed, the new units are delivered by our own transport from our Chesterfield Warehouse and installed, tested and commissioned by our trained and qualified Electric Highway installers.

Ian, our Contracts Director, also did a small interview regarding SDE Group and our New Electric Charging Installation, you can see what he had to say below:

We recently invested in our own Electric Vehicle for our staff to use when travelling between sites, and installed charging stations in the office car park, to allow our team who own their own electric vehicles to charge their cars during the workday. We have found this has been a great benefit to our team members who head to sites regularly.
